I am pleased to say that I will soon have Aloe Vera Gel for sale online and in the shop.
What’s great about Aloe Vera Gel? It’s a natural anti-inflammatory, moisturising, cooling ingredient. It contains vitamin B complex, vitamin C and said to have anti-aging and healing properties. I use it as an undereye soother. It can also be used as a skin cleanser and wound healer, to cool insect bites and allergic reactions.
There are a few ingredients listed so let go through the list so that you know what you are purchasing,
Aqua, Aloe Barbadensis (Aloe Vera) Juice, Carbomer, Caprylyl glycol, Decylene glycol, Citric acid, Phenoxyethanol, Sodium hydroxide, Benzyl alcohol
Water is the ingredient in the largest quantity followed by Aloe Vera Juice, a natural plant extract.
Carbomer is a commonly used synthetic thickening agent used to make clear gels. It requires an alkali for it to work in a formulation which is why Sodium Hydroxide in a very small quantity is also listed.
Caprylyl glycol, Phenoxyethanol and Benzyl alcohol are all preservatives to keep bacteria and fungi from growing.- most likely at 1% or less.
Decylene glycol is a synthetic skin conditioner which is also a thickener of liquids.
Finally Citric Acid is used here to balance the PH of the product.
I am trying to post every 2 weeks - next time I' be reviewing the ingredients in a milky cleanser.
