SCS Formulate

I very much enjoyed my visit to this event last week. It was quite low key with distancing and masks but nevertheless I think everyone was so pleased to be able to connect in person again after so long.

I spent time at the SCS desk saying hello to the course administrators and then headed off around some of the ingredient supplier stands. I especially enjoyed meeting up with The Secrets of Caledonia who have opened up near Edinburgh and are suppliers of extracts from locally grown plants in association with Edinburgh Botanical Gardens. Their manufacturing plant has opened and they are developing their farmland to for organic growing of some of the plants they use - broom extract anyone?

I also spent time with Surfachem and BASF, 2 ingredient suppliers here in the UK who are also distributers of other brand ingredients and I am hoping that they contact me soon to arrange my next ingredients orders.

There were a whole raft of seminars to attend but the regulations update and the Surfachem presentation on the manufacturers who are making a real difference in making their ingredients and manufacturing operations fully sustainable were a real inspiration! How could you not want ingredients which are fair trade or made using net zero carbon. I came away with lots to do and read. You will be hearing more about how this learning will affect my business soon!
